BEAUTY DESPITE ADVERSITY

Renee Davis believes that 

true beauty shines from within. Activist, mother, wife, and model, Davis has overcome homelessness, poverty, and a  cancer diagnosis. 

This survivor's strength, determination, and perseverance is a testament to her faith in God and that God has created

us all for a purpose. Davis has established three points that she follows steadfastly.

First, Davis believes establishing a firm spiritual foundation can not only help overcome the stresses of life but also counteract premature aging. “You're going to have all kinds of attacks – all kinds of onslaughts on who you are spiritually and mentally. Make sure that you are prepared for that through prayer, reading the Word, being around positive people, going to church and hearing the Word,” encourages Davis. She also warns to guard yourself against negativity – negative people, negative thoughts, music, television, etc. which can bring you down and open the door to spiritual attacks.

Secondly, Davis stresses the importance of eating right. “I tell young girls and women that you can't expect to put makeup on a canvas that's flawed. If you aren't eating properly, it will show up on the outside.” She believes in cutting back on artificial sugars, preservative, and fast food. Eat more vegetables, fruits, and take vitamins and supplements to balance your diet.

Thirdly, good hygiene is imperative! Beauty requires taking care of your skin, nails, and hair. Keeping your doctor and dental appointments. “Enhance the beauty God gave you. Don't over do it.”

Finally, this Fierce, Fabulous, and Ageless survivor says,

 "The key to perseverance is recognizing that you are not here for yourself. You have to understand that no matter how hard it gets or how much you might want to quit, it’s not up to you. God has created us for a purpose, and we’ve got to stay here until our purpose is completed. “You’re here for a reason, so when it’s difficult, recognize ‘It’s not about me’.”
